Sunday Fun

Well on Sunday I usually sew, talk to family and sometimes read good books. Along with that is Church and meetings. Today I was working on a project that my mom gave to me because she was having a hard time seeing what could be done with the fabric which is very bright and busy. I like bright busy fabrics more than my mom so the challenge was exciting for me. I finished the top of the baby quilt (useing the bright and busy fabrics) and now it is ready for the finishing touches, but unfortunately I do not have any fabric large enough for the backing or that would match. So this project is going to be sent on to my dear sister Jennifer (who doesn't know it is coming yet, unless she is reading this) and she can have the joy of finishing it, which shouldn't be to difficult. (love ya sis).
Last weekend I finished a quilt for Mama Michie. It was nice to see the quilt completed. It turned out pretty nice looking. It feels good to complete a quilt. All the hard work pays off when you can see how it turned out. Now I need to finish the family round robin quilt that I participated in a few years back. I am still working on it. I could have it done soon if I really pushed myself but we shall see how it goes.

Can't believe its Feb.

Well January has gone and now it is February. The days move by fast these days.
Nothing new has happened in our lives.
We just keep plugging along, keeping busy with our jobs and church assignments.
Right now we are reading together in our free time, which is very enjoyable.

Need Help....

I don't know how to put a video that I have made on my blog. If anyone knows please help me.
Sorry guys looks like you won't be able to see mom open her gift.

Christmas Day ----Dec. 25 2009

Paul and I went to good old Moses Lake for Christmas this year. We had fun playing games with everyone and opening gifts. It was a lot of fun watching Mom Jones open her gift. I caught it on video so I could share it with all of you (mainly my siblings).
We enjoyed the games at the Michie Christmas Carnival. The little kids had tons of fun and so did the adults. I won the musical chairs game, which was fun. It was a great idea and a good way to spend some time with everyone. I hope we do that again sometime.
Thank you all for making our Christmas such a wonderful one. We are so blessed to have so many great family members and friends in our lives.

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS BUT DEAD TREE

Ok, so we bought a Christmas tree, but we didn't treat it right or something and now its dead. It's still here. Dried and leaning. Chris took the decorations off and yeah... it just sits there. We'll replace it sometime, maybe. We haven't completely decided what we're going to do yet. It wasn't ever very tall. On the box it stood a grand 4' 10". We thought we'd share a picture of us in our living room with the lights. They're pretty cool. They give the room a festive reddish tint.

Michie Life Update

We grew a garden this summer. We were blessed to get a plot in the Cheney Community Gardens, which happened to be a five minute walk or less from our apartment. It was a lot of work and a lot of fun. Some of the things that we planted did wonderful and others struggled the whole time. Paul and I spent a lot of time planting, weeding, and watering. Sometimes we worked together and other times we went without the other, due to work schedules. We planted potatoes, peas (great success with the peas), carrots (very yummy and big), tomatoes (still green, trying to ripen), lettuce, spinach, basil, dill, jalepenos, green peppers(struggled), crookedneck squash (strugged, but produce a few squash here at the end), green beans, cucumbers(had to replant three times, just didn't want to grow or kept getting eatin by the birds), radishes(had tons), and corn (which didn't produce). It has been fun eating and sharing our harvest. Paul is working out at the airport again at Xn Air, and waiting for EWU to get things in place so he can do his student teaching. We don't know when he will be doing his student teaching, we are hoping that it will happen soon. I am still working at EWU's Children's Center, but I am no longer working with the three year olds in the preschool. I miss the preschoolers, but am glad that I no longer work with the other preschool teacher, who is down right awful and should never have gotten a job working with children. I am now working with the one year olds and loving it. They are adorable and tons of fun, except when all they do is cry all day, but luckily for me I don't have many cryers in my classroom. I have to create lesson plans for one year olds which to me seems rather silly, and it isn't as easy as planning lessons for three year olds. Along with work and gardening I have been doing some quilting, and sewing. Right now I have a queen size quilt on quilt frames in my living room that I am working on. I have a dress cut out and ready to sew together, and a couple of other projects. My only hang up on my projects is my sewing machine, it likes to break needles for some unforseen reason. It will work and then it decides to throw a fit and break things which makes me throw a fit, except I usually don't break things although I want to break my machine when it acts up at times, but I never do. I just try and fix the problem or I turn it off and walk away hoping that is will fix itself. Well that's all for now. Until next time, which will probably be awhile from now, so don't hold your breath.

I am a LAZY BLOGGER!!!!! For all of you who look at this blog and have been disappointed, SORRY. I wish I could say that we have been busy and have been having tons of fun going on adventures here and there, but I can't say that. I am just lazy.
